Regular Season Round 13: Rogaska - Ilirija 106-99

There was no surprise in Rogaska Slatina where 10th ranked Ilirija (1-10) was defeated by fifth ranked Rogaska (7-6) 106-99 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 106-99. Rogaska made 34-of-42 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game, while Ilirija only scored thirteen points from the stripe. They outrebounded Ilirija 29-17. Rogaska looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American point guard Rashun Davis (182-93, college: Radford) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) for the winners and the former international guard Miha Vasl (192-92) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American swingman LD Williams (193-88, college: Wake Forest) responded with 21 points and the other American import point guard Joshua Heath (180-94, college: Georgia Tech) scored 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Rogaska and four Ilirija players scored in double figures. Rogaska moved-up to fourth place. Loser Ilirija stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Rogaska will meet Zlatorog (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ilirija will play against Hopsi Polzela and hope to win that game.
