Regular Season Round 28: Neptunas-Akv. - Palanga 91-73

The most important game in the last round took place in Klaipeda between second ranked Palanga (17-8) and fifth ranked Neptunas-Akv. (15-11) on Saturday night. Palanga was defeated by Neptunas-Akv. on the road 91-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Palanga. They outrebounded Palanga 44-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Neptunas-Akv. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Tadas Pazera (194-98) who added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Tomas Gaidamavicius used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Jalen Riley (182-93, college: E.Tenn.St.) responded with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Grantas Vasiliauskas (204-99) scored 14 points. Four Palanga players scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv. maintains fifth position with 15-11 record, which they share with Perlas. Palanga at the other side dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Neptunas-Akv. is looking forward to face Gargzdu (#9) in Gargzdai in the next round. Palanga will play on the road against the league's leader Suduva-Mantinga (#1) in Marijampole and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
