There was an upset when higher ranked Coburg (8-8) lost at home to ninth ranked OrangeAcademy (7-9) 85-76 on Saturday. OrangeAcademy looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Coburg was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for forward Till Pape (206-97) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Christoph Philipps (203-98) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four OrangeAcademy players scored in double figures. Christopher Wolf (199-95) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Chase Adams (177-88, college: Pittsburgh) added 9 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Coburg. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. OrangeAcademy moved-up to eighth place in South, which they share with FC Bayern II. Loser Coburg dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. OrangeAcademy will face Wuerzburg (#10) on the road in the next round. Coburg will play against the league's second-placed BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
