Regular Season Round 28: Zalgiris II - Telsiai 77-63

An interesting game took place in Kaunas where higher ranked Telsiai (15-10) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Zalgiris II (11-15) 77-63 on Saturday. Zalgiris II made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Zalgiris II outrebounded Telsiai 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. Telsiai was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Marius Valinskas (187-99) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 assists and swingman Lukas Uleckas (199-99) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Kersis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Zalgiris II moved-up to tenth place. Loser Telsiai keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Zalgiris II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas KTU.
