There was a small surprise in Zemun where eleventh ranked Mladost ZE (6-10) defeated 8th ranked Vrsac (7-9) 99-92 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vrsac won third quarter 25-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mladost ZE made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Mladost ZE especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Forward Aleksa Novakovic (200-96, college: E.Illinois) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Tadija Tadic (195-99) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists. Point guard Strahinja Jovanovic (180-96) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists and center Veljko Brkic (206-95) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Mladost ZE and four Vrsac players scored in double figures. Mladost ZE have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Loser Vrsac keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Mladost ZE will face higher ranked Vojvodina NS (#9) in Novi Sad in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
