Regular Season Round 14: Deutsch-Wagram - Mustangs 52-98

Bottom-ranked Deutsch-Wagram is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to eighth ranked Mustangs (7-7) 98-52 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Mustangs led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Deutsch-Wagram's 24. Mustangs forced 22 Deutsch-Wagram turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Deutsch-Wagram's players. Czech center Ivo Prachar (210-82) notched 29 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Czech forward Vladimir Sismilich (202-85) supported him with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Five Mustangs players scored in double figures. Even 13 points by guard Simon Marek (180-1) did not help to save the game for Deutsch-Wagram. Point guard Paul Rotter (190-0) added 8 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Deutsch-Wagram's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Mustangs have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Flames and Piraten. Newly promoted Deutsch-Wagram still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Mustangs will meet at home higher ranked UBC St. Polten (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Deutsch-Wagram will play against Raiders (#3) in Villach and hopes to get finally their first victory.
