Regular Season Round 18: Nevezis - Juventus 97-93

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Juventus (7-11) and Nevezis (4-14), which took place in Kedainiai. 6th ranked Juventus lost to ninth ranked Nevezis in a road game 93-97. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Juventus won third quarter 30-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Nevezis won last quarter 23-20. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Chauncey Collins (183-95, college: TCU, agency: Alti Sport) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Gabas Maldunas (206-93, college: Dartmouth) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Nevezis' coach Ramunas Cvirka allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Dovis Bickauskis (191-93, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) added 19 points respectively. Five Nevezis and four Juventus players scored in double figures. Nevezis maintains ninth position with 4-14 record. Juventus at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. Nevezis' next round opponent will be league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
