Regular Season Round 9: Dynamo-NPU - Frankivsk 86-59

An interesting game for Dynamo-NPU (14-3) which hosted in Kyiv 3rd placed Frankivsk (9-4). First ranked Dynamo-NPU had an easy win 86-59. The game was mostly controlled by Dynamo-NPU. Frankivsk was better in third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Frankivsk 49-27 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dynamo-NPU players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. American guard Andreona Keys (178-95, college: Purdue) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Viktoriya Kasatkina (187-92) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Keys is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was the former international center Miriam Uro-Nile (188-94, agency: LBM Management) with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Olena Ogorodnikova (187-81) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Dynamo-NPU. They maintain first place with 14-3 record. Newly promoted Frankivsk keeps the third position with four games lost. Dynamo-NPU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Frankivsk will play on the road against Chaika in Berdiansk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
