Regular Season Round 16: Triglav - Konjice 74-41

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Triglav (13-2) crushed 6th ranked Konjice (4-11) in Kranj 74-41 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Triglav. Konjice managed to win second period 15-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Konjice to just 7 points in third quarter. Triglav held Konjice to an opponent 20.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Konjice 54-34 including a 40-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Triglav looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Konjice's players. The winners were led by Bosnian Lejla Omerbasic (182-97) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Eva Prevodnik (166-99) supported her with 5 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Triglav's coach Ernest Novak felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 10 points and 5 rebounds by guard Tia Tajhar (174-2) did not help to save the game for Konjice. Forward Katja Klancnik (177-90) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Triglav have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader Celje. Konjice lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Grosbasket. Triglav will meet at home bottom-ranked Domzale (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Konjice will play against Jezica in Ljubljana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
