Rather predictable result when first ranked Koblenz (15-1) smashed at home 3rd placed Karlsruhe SC (12-4) 95-75 on Saturday. They outrebounded Karlsruhe SC 47-31 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Koblenz looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Karlsruhe SC's players. Serbian forward Milan Trtic (201-86, agency: HMS) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Lithuanian point guard Julius Zurna (188-86) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Koblenz players scored in double figures. Koblenz's coach Josip Bosnjak allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Rouven Roessler (198-80) responded with 28 points and 6 rebounds and center Eyke Prahst (209-97) scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Koblenz. They maintain first place in South-West with 15-1 record, which they share with Speyer. Loser Karlsruhe SC keeps the third position with four games lost. Koblenz will face Mannheim (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Karlsruhe SC will play against TV Langen (#7) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
