Regular Season Round 9: Kyiv Basket - Frankivsk 79-67

An interesting game for Kyiv Basket (13-2) which hosted in Kyiv 3rd placed Frankivsk (9-4). Second ranked Kyiv Basket managed to get a 12-point victory 79-67. The game was mostly controlled by Kyiv Basket. Frankivsk managed to win second period 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-20 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Kyiv Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for the former international swingman Viktoriya Kondus (176-97) who led her team to a victory with 27 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The former international guard Ievgeniia Spitkovska (174-88) contributed with 6 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. The former international center Miriam Uro-Nile (188-94, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Olena Ogorodnikova (187-81) added 11 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for Frankivsk. Frankivsk's coach Yuriy Protsuk rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kyiv Basket have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 13-2 record behind leader Dynamo-NPU. Newly promoted Frankivsk keeps the third position with four games lost. Kyiv Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Frankivsk will play on the road against Chaika in Berdiansk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
