Regular Season Round 15: Eisenstadt - Rocks 65-94
Date: January 19, 2019
2.Bundesliga top team - Rocks (13-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Nord Dragonz (3-12) in Eisenstadt 94-65. The game was mostly controlled by Rocks. Nord Dragonz was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rocks dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Nord Dragonz's 24. They outrebounded Nord Dragonz 44-19 including a 12-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for American power forward Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Canadian center Corey Hallett (210-84, college: Monmouth) accounted for 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Rocks players scored in double figures. Power forward Lukas Knor (197-1) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Dragisa Najdanovic (183-88) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Nord Dragonz in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rocks have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-2 record. Nord Dragonz lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Rocks will play against BBU (#9) in Salzburg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nord Dragonz will play on the road against KOS in Klagenfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
