Regular Season Round 19: Trier - Art.Dragons 91-78

Everything could happen in Trier at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Gladiators and 9th ranked Artland Dragons had identical 9-9 record. This time Gladiators used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Quakenbrueck 91-78 on Saturday night. Gladiators made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) fired 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Simon Schmitz (188-90) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. American forward Demetris Morant (206-92, college: FGCU) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gladiators (10-9) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Karlsruhe PS. Newly promoted Artland Dragons keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Gladiators will face Baunach (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artland Dragons will play against Lions (#7) in Karlsruhe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
