Regular Season Round 9: Dynamo-NPU - SBK Lviv 70-60

Superleague top team - Dynamo-NPU (14-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked SBK Lviv (4-12) in Kyiv 70-60. The game was mostly controlled by Dynamo-NPU. SBK Lviv was better in third quarter 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Dynamo-NPU won last quarter 24-16. They dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to SBK Lviv's 18 and made 24-of-27 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Dynamo-NPU players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by SBK Lviv helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Andreona Keys (178-95, college: Purdue) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Ashley Morrissette (175-95, college: Purdue) chipped in 19 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Keys is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was center Mariia Kovtun (198-92, college: Texas Woman's) who recorded 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Krystyna Matsko (182-91) added 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks respectively. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Dynamo-NPU. They maintain first place with 14-3 record. Newly promoted SBK Lviv keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Dynamo-NPU will have a break next round. SBK Lviv will play at home against Frankivsk (#3) and hope to win that game.
