Higher League top team - Prometey (19-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Mariupol (9-11) in Kamianske 102-48. The game without a history. Prometey led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mariupol to just 5 points in first quarter. Prometey dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mariupol's 26. They outrebounded Mariupol 48-30 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Prometey looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Mariupol's players. It was a quality performance for Maks-Adam Konate (202-91) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Vitali Malchevskiy (203-87) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Prometey players scored in double figures. Guard Kirilo Zuev (196-93) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Oleksandr Biella (201-95) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Mariupol in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for Prometey. Newly promoted Prometey maintains first place with 19-1 record. Mariupol lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Politekhn.Lvov. Prometey will meet at home Kremen (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mariupol will play against Niko-Basket (#4) in Mykolaiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
