Regular Season Round 15: Botas - Hatay 71-72

The most exciting game of round 15 in the KBSL took place in Adana. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Botas (10-5) to second ranked Hatay (13-2) 72-71 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Botas. It was a great evening for international Cansu Koksal (185-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Bosnian-Slovenian power forward Marica Gajic (187-95) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Four Hatay players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Elizabeth Williams (190-93, college: Duke) with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and international point guard Olcay Cakir-Turgut (182-93, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 9 points and 10 assists. Hatay maintains second place with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader Cukurova. Botas at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Hatay are looking forward to face Canik Belediye (#10) in Samsun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Botas will play on the road against Mersin BSB (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
