The game had a very big importance for second-ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg as it allowed them to take a leadership position. BC Pharmaserv Marburg defeated 11th ranked ChemCats Chemnitz at home 65-52. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of ChemCats Chemnitz. BC Pharmaserv Marburg had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. International forward Marie Bertholdt (183-95, college: Santa Clara) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and Canadian-Hungarian center Alexandria Kiss-Rusk (193-93, college: McGill, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. BC Pharmaserv Marburg's coach Patrick Unger used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Maya Hood (178-94, college: San Diego) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Czech point guard Andrea Andelova (172-94) scored 12 points and 4 steals. BC Pharmaserv Marburg (11-1) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Herner. ChemCats Chemnitz at the other side dropped to the tenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Saarlouis. ChemCats Chemnitz will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Hannover on the road.
