Second Stage Round 1: KTU - Zalgiris II 77-91

No shocking result in a game in Kaunas where Zalgiris II (14-15) defeated KTU (5-24) 91-77 on Friday. Zalgiris II dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KTU's 36. Zalgiris II forced 23 KTU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) fired 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Modestas Kancleris (203-1) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Karolis Sapiega (196-99) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Matas Ragauskas (189-96) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zalgiris II will face Jonava (#14) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KTU will play against Taurages and hope to win that game.
