There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Dortmund (4-13) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Salzkotten (4-13) 81-65 on Friday. Salzkotten dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dortmund's 30. Salzkotten forced 22 Dortmund turnovers and outrebounded them 44-23 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Felix Wenningkamp (195-88) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Julius Veenhof (196-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Salzkotten players scored in double figures. Salzkotten's coach Stefan Schettke used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Aaron Bowser (190-84, college: Ariz.Christian) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and forward Tresor Nsiabandoki (196-88) added 9 points respectively. Salzkotten moved-up to eleventh place in West, which they share with Deutzer and Dortmund. Dortmund lost sixth consecutive game. Salzkotten will face higher ranked Dorsten (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
