Regular Season Round 16: Kircicegi B. - Izmit 61-90

Bottom-ranked Kircicegi B. (0-16) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 90-61 loss to ninth ranked Izmit (7-9) in Bodrum on Saturday evening. They also forced 20 Kircicegi B. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Alexa Hart (190-95, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Melek Yusufoglu (168-94) who added 10 points and 7 assists during the contest. Izmit's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and forward Busra Turan (-99) scored 6 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Newly promoted Izmit maintains ninth position with 7-9 record. Kircicegi B. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings. Izmit will meet at home Istanbul Uni (#13) in the next round. Kircicegi B. will play against Fenerbahce in Istanbul and hopes to get finally their first victory.
