There was no surprise in Breitenguessbach where 14th ranked Goldbach (2-13) was crushed by third ranked TSV Troester (11-5) 89-51 on Saturday. TSV Troester outrebounded Goldbach 42-26 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Goldbach's players. The best player for the winners was center Erik Land (205-90) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds. Center Jonas Klaus (205-97) chipped in 7 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. TSV Troester's coach Johannes Laub felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mantas Jagela (183-93) who recorded 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Jimmy Kodet (201-95, college: Valdosta St.) added 12 points respectively. TSV Troester maintains third position in South-East with 11-5 record having five points less than leader Duesseldorf. Newly promoted Goldbach keeps the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. TSV Troester will face Treuchtlingen (#7) in Treutchlingen in the next round. Goldbach will play at home against Muenchen OSB (#9) and hope to win that game.
