Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Lions (11-9) rolled over 9th ranked Artland Dragons (9-11) in Karlsruhe 84-64 on Saturday. Artland Dragons were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: Washington St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Kahron Ross (180-95, college: Lehigh) contributed with 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Paul Albrecht (205-93) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Artland Dragons. Lions moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ehingen and Trier. Newly promoted Artland Dragons keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Lions will face Uni Baskets (#12) in Paderborn in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artland Dragons will play at home against the league's leader Chemnitz and hope to win that game.
