Regular Season Round 18: Bad Aibling - Leitershofen 84-80

Round in Regionalliga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Bad Aibling where host Bad Aibling (6-10) beat league's leader Topstar (13-3) 84-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Topstar. The best player for the winners was guard Simon Bradaric who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists. Power forward Steffen Lautner (201-88) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard CJ Carr (173-95, college: Missouri So.) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and Bernhard Benke (206-97) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five Bad Aibling and four Topstar players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Bad Aibling maintains eleventh position in South-East with 6-10 record. Topstar at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Duesseldorf. Topstar will play next round against Jena II trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Bad Aibling will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Herzogenaurach on the road.
