Second Stage Round 2: Zalgiris II - Jonava 88-71

Very predictable result when Zalgiris II (15-15) won against Jonava (9-20) in Kaunas 88-71 on Saturday. Zalgiris II dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Jonava's 22. They outrebounded Jonava 43-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Zalgiris II looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Lukas Uleckas (199-99) notched 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Even 18 points and 4 assists by American guard Jalen Bradley (185-93, college: ORU) did not help to save the game for Jonava. Forward Augustinas Jankaitis (205-94) added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Four Jonava players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris II will meet at home Gargzdu (#10) in the next round. Jonava will play against Ereliai Mazeikiai (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
