Regular Season Round 10: Kozachka-KPU - Vinnystkiye M. 50-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Kozachka-KPU's (3-16) home loss to eighth ranked Vinnystkiye M. (4-13) 50-72. It looked good early as Kozachka-KPU took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vinnystkiye M. had a 19-9 second period charge getting the lead and Kozachka-KPU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-72. It was a great shooting night for Vinnystkiye M. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Point guard Viktoriya Ilchyshyna (167-91) notched 23 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Viktoriya Khomiak (170-95) supported her with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Vinnystkiye M. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks by power forward Jana Strelko (186-81) did not help to save the game for Kozachka-KPU. Guard Olga Chernenko (176-86) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Vinnystkiye M. maintains eighth position with 4-13 record. Newly promoted Kozachka-KPU stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Vinnystkiye M. will play against higher ranked Interkhim (#5) in Odessa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kozachka-KPU will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kyiv Basket (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
