Regular Season Round 21: UBSC Graz - Timberwolves 96-90

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Timberwolves (8-13) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked UBSC Graz (8-13) 96-90. It looked good early as Timberwolves took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then UBSC Graz had a 28-15 second period charge getting the lead and Timberwolves were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 90-96. UBSC Graz players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was a good game for Croatian-Bosnian guard Ivan Mikulic (194-91) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 6 assists. The former international Anton Maresch (191-91) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks and Croatian guard Petar Cosic (183-85, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 13 assists in the effort for Timberwolves. Five UBSC Graz and four Timberwolves players scored in double figures. UBSC Graz have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Timberwolves and Wels. UBSC Graz's next round opponent will be league's leader Gmunden Swans at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
