There was no surprise when 8th ranked BBC Bayreuth (9-8) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked ALBA Berlin (12-4) 86-68 on Saturday. ALBA Berlin forced 19 BBC Bayreuth turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International Johannes Thiemann (206-94, agency: BeoBasket) fired 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Cameroonian center Landry Nnoko (208-94, college: Clemson) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Kassius Robertson (191-94, college: Missouri) produced 19 points and American Adonis Thomas (201-93, college: Memphis) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ALBA Berlin maintains fourth place with 12-4 record. BBC Bayreuth lost their fourth game in a row.
