There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Neustadt TSV (9-9) defeated at home 4th placed Rendsburg (11-8) 98-83 on Saturday. Neustadt TSV made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for Mubarak Salami (197-96) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 rebounds. British guard Rishi Kakad (188-87, college: Hawaii Pacific) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Five Neustadt TSV players scored in double figures. American forward Pierce Cumpstone (203-94, college: Stonehill) answered with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Australian swingman Julian Pesava (193-95, college: Wayland Baptist) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rendsburg. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Neustadt TSV. They moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Bergedorf. Loser Rendsburg keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Neustadt TSV will face Aschersleben (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rendsburg will play against the league's second-placed RSV Eintracht (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
