The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Galatasaray (#7) and Acibadem (#6). Galatasaray (9-7) won against visiting Acibadem (8-8) 88-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Acibadem. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Nigel Hayes (203-94, college: Wisconsin) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. New Zealand guard Tai-Jack Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Galatasaray's coach Ertugrul Erdogan used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spanish point guard Joaquin Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Five Acibadem players scored in double figures. Galatasaray moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gaziantep. Newly promoted Acibadem dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Besiktas. Galatasaray will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Acibadem's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Darussafaka.
