Regular Season Round 19: Rosenheim - Bamberg 80-66

There was an upset when higher ranked Bamberg (8-9) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Rosenheim (6-11) 80-66 on Saturday. Rosenheim dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Bamberg's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Bamberg's players. It was a very good performance for American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Lithuanian forward Osvaldas Gaizauskas (201-91, college: Ohio Valley) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Christoph Dippold (191-94) answered with 17 points and American power forward Robert Ferguson (203-85, college: St.Joseph's) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Bamberg. Four Bamberg players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rosenheim. They moved-up to eleventh place in South-East, which they share with Bad Aibling. Loser Bamberg dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Rosenheim will face higher ranked Schwabing (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
