Regular Season Round 21: Dzukija - Nevezis 86-73

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Dzukija's (7-13) home victory over 9th ranked Nevezis (4-16) in Alytus 86-73. The game was mostly controlled by Dzukija. Nevezis was better in fourth quarter 21-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dzukija players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Nevezis' players. Turkish forward Kerem Kanter (208-95, college: Xavier) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Dominykas Domarkas (190-92) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. Four Dzukija players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Chauncey Collins (183-95, college: TCU, agency: Alti Sport) with 20 points and Croatian point guard Martin Junakovic (186-94, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dzukija moved-up to seventh place. Nevezis at the other side keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Dzukija will play against league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play at home against the league's second-placed Rytas (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
