LKL top team - Zalgiris (19-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Prienu Skycop (7-14) in Kaunas 96-67. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Zalgiris outrebounded Prienu Skycop 39-23 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Prienu Skycop's players. The former international center Antanas Kavaliauskas (208-84, college: Texas A&M, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 15 points for the winners and international Edgaras Ulanovas (197-92) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Zygimantas Janavicius (192-89, agency: Interperformances) with 17 points and forward Arnas Labuckas (205-87, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Zalgiris. Zalgiris will play against Dzukija (#7) in Alytus in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Prienu Skycop will play on the road against Lietkabelis in Panevezys and hopes to get back on the winning track.
