Regular Season Round 19: Loewen - OrangeAcademy 59-81

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked OrangeAcademy (9-10) rolled over 6th ranked Loewen (9-10) in Erfurt 81-59 on Sunday. OrangeAcademy made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Austrian guard David Kraemer (199-97) who led the winners and scored 17 points. American guard Eric Davis (190-97, college: Texas) accounted for 19 points (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side. Four OrangeAcademy players scored in double figures. Guard David Taylor (190-95, college: Pacific) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) added 7 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Loewen in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. OrangeAcademy moved-up to sixth place in South, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Loewen. OrangeAcademy will meet at home league's second-placed BV Villingen-Schwenningen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Loewen will play against Fraport Skyliners II (#4) in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
