Second Stage Round 5: Suduva-Mantinga - Perlas 75-87

Leading Suduva-Mantinga (25-8) recorded its eighth loss in Marijampole. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Perlas (19-14) 87-75. Perlas forced 19 Suduva-Mantinga turnovers. Forward Simas Jarumbauskas (197-0, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and power forward Einaras Tubutis (207-98) chipped in 14 points and 16 rebounds. Perlas' coach Arvydas Gronskis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aurimas Urbonas (198-93) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and the former international Aurimas Kieza (199-82, college: Hofstra) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Perlas. They moved-up to fourth place. Suduva-Mantinga at the other side dropped to the second position with eight games lost. Perlas will play against Silute (#6) at home in the next round. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Telsiai (#5) in Telsiu and hopes to get back on the winning track.
