Regular Season Round 19: Khimik - Odessa 92-78

Superleague top team - Khimik (16-6) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Odessa (7-13) in Yuzhny 92-78. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Odessa was better in fourth quarter 22-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Christian Jones (201-93, college: UNLV, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. International Sergiy Pavlov (205-97) helped adding 22 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Olexandr Belikov (201-92) responded with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Latvian point guard Marcis Vitols (186-92) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Five Khimik and four Odessa players scored in double figures. Odessa's coach Oleg Yushkin tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik maintains first place with 16-6 record. Odessa at the other side keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Khimik will play against Kyiv Basket (#4) on the road in the next round. Odessa will play against Cherkasy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
