There was a small surprise when sixth ranked ICIM Arad (5-12) defeated on the road 4th placed CSM Targoviste (9-8) 70-52. ICIM Arad dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to CSM Targoviste's 32. They outrebounded CSM Targoviste 42-31 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Destiny Williams (185-91, college: Baylor) accounted for 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. American forward Monique Coker (188-82, college: ODU) came up with 8 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Porsche Poole (172-89, college: Michigan St.) added 15 points respectively for CSM Targoviste in the defeat. CSM Targoviste's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. ICIM Arad maintains sixth place with 5-12 record. Newly promoted CSM Targoviste keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. ICIM Arad will play against higher ranked Olimpia Brasov (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CSM Targoviste will play against the league's second-placed Satu Mare and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
