No shocking result in a game when second ranked Triglav (17-2) crushed 5th ranked Maribor (6-11) in Kranj 90-53. The game without a history. Triglav led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Maribor's 38 and made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Triglav forced 24 Maribor turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Maribor's players. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Rebeka Abramovic (172-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points, 7 assists and 8 steals. Bosnian Lejla Omerbasic (182-97) helped adding 14 points. Four Triglav players scored in double figures. Triglav's coach Ernest Novak felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side international Tina Cvijanovic (180-98) responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Merisa Dautovic (186-99) scored 14 points. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Triglav. They maintain second place with 17-2 record behind leader Celje. Maribor lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Triglav will play against Ilrija (#3) in Ljubljana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Maribor will play at home against Jezica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
