Rather expected game when 8th ranked Vinnystkiye M. (4-15) was smashed on the road by sixth ranked BK Rivne (10-9) 88-66 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-66. BK Rivne outrebounded Vinnystkiye M. 45-34 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for BK Rivne especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Vinnystkiye M. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Tetiana Havrylchyk (193-0) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Forward Liudmyla Spyrydonova (180-84) contributed with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. BK Rivne had such big advantage that coach Valeriy Zhartun felt comfortable to give the chance to play for 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Point guard Viktoriya Ilchyshyna (167-91) replied with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Iryna Zhmurko (185-96) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vinnystkiye M.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BK Rivne have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Vinnystkiye M. at the other side keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. BK Rivne will face league's second-placed Kyiv Basket at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vinnystkiye M. will play against the league's leader Dynamo-NPU (#1) and hope to win that game.
