There was no surprise when 10th ranked ALBA Berlin (2-13) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (9-5) 72-66 on Saturday. Rotenburg/Scheessel dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to ALBA Berlin's 30. Rotenburg/Scheessel forced 19 ALBA Berlin turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rotenburg/Scheessel made 8 blocks. American center Alecia Cooley (190-95, college: Arkansas) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for the winners. The other American import forward Kama Griffitts (183-91, college: Arizona) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Rotenburg/Scheessel players scored in double figures. Noemie Rouault (182-95) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and the former international swingman Ireti Amojo (177-90, college: Washington St.) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. ALBA Berlin's coach Moritz Schaefer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rotenburg/Scheessel have an impressive six-game winning streak.
