Randers forced 20 Vaerlose turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. American point guard Devon Thomas (183-94, college: Texas Tech) fired 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. His fellow American import forward Dee Franklin (196, college: Ft.Valley St.) chipped in 24 points. Franklin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Randers players scored in double figures. Power forward Emil Freese-Villient (207-99) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Asbjorn Nerlov (197-98) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Randers maintains fifth place with 12-9 record. Newly promoted Vaerlose keeps the third position with 13 games lost. Randers will meet higher ranked Naestved (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vaerlose will play against the league's leader BMS Skovlunde and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
