Regular Season Round 18: Rilski - Levski Lukoil 93-95

Fourth-ranked Rilski (9-6) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Levski Lukoil (14-2) in Samokov on Saturday. The visitors from Sofia managed to secure only two-point victory 95-93. However their fans expected easier game. Strangely Rilski outrebounded Levski Lukoil 37-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-90, college: Cal-Irvine) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!). The former international guard Bozhidar Avramov (196-90) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Levski Lukoil's coach Konstantin Papazov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international guard Zlatin Georgiev (197-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and Senegalese-American power forward Malik Dime (206-92, college: Washington) added 17 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Rilski. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Levski Lukoil have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Rilski at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Levski Lukoil's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Academic Sofia.
