Regular Season Round 12: Interkhim - Chaika 63-62

The most exciting game of round 12 in the Superleague took place in Odessa. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Chaika (10-8) to fourth ranked Interkhim (11-9) 63-62 in the game for the third place. Chaika was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely Chaika outrebounded Interkhim 46-27 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for swingman Svitlana Kolibabchuk (189-87) who saved her team from a defeat with 20 points. Guard Yulia Sergeyeva (175-99) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Interkhim players scored in double figures. The former international forward Olexandra Radulovich-Kurasova (186-86) replied with 28 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Iryna Tsekova (178-78) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Chaika. Interkhim moved-up to third place. Chaika lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Interkhim will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chaika will play on the road against SBK Lviv (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
