Regular Season Round 15: HAKRO Merlins - Science City Jena 79-82

The most exciting game of round 15 in the NBBL took place in Crailsheim. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked HAKRO Merlins (5-7) to fourth ranked Science City Jena (7-3) 82-79 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for Melvin Jostmann (200-0) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Lorenz Bank (187-1) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Science City Jena's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Croatian point guard Vladan Lazic (190-1) answered with 18 points and 5 assists and Serbian point guard Aleksa Kovacevic (187-2) added 15 points and 6 assists in the effort for HAKRO Merlins. Five HAKRO Merlins players scored in double figures. Science City Jena have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in Group 3. HAKRO Merlins at the other side keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Science City Jena are looking forward to face Junior Loewen (#9) in Braunschweig in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. HAKRO Merlins will play on the road against the league's leader Junior Loewen (#1) in Breitenguessbach and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
