Regular Season Round 17: Silutes SM - Perkunas 60-104

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Perkunas (13-2) crushed on the road 9th ranked Silutes SM (4-11) 104-60 on Sunday. The game without a history. Perkunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Silutes SM's 36. Perkunas forced 20 Silutes SM turnovers and outrebounded them 53-25 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Martynas Ziukas (198-1) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Gytis Nemeiksa (189-1) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Perkunas players scored in double figures. Dominykas Girskis (189-2) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Tautvydas Rimkus (192-1) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Silutes SM in the defeat. Silutes SM's coach Petras Jonikas gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Perkunas have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-2 record having just two point less than leader Vilniaus Silputa. Loser Silutes SM dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Jonavos. Perkunas will meet at home Sostines (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Silutes SM will play against V.Knasiaus KM in Klaipeda and hope to secure a win.
