A Bundesliga top team - Gmunden Swans (17-6) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Arkadia Lions (11-12) in Traiskirchen 87-80. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 29-24. But Arkadia Lions won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gmunden Swans made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American power forward Torrion Brummitt (203-93, college: W.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Devin White (203-88, college: SUNO) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. International guard Benedikt Guettl (190-94) responded with 22 points and 8 assists and American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Gmunden Swans and four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans maintains first place with 17-6 record. Arkadia Lions at the other side keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Vienna. Gmunden Swans will play against Dukes (#4) in Klosterneuburg in the next round. Arkadia Lions will play on the road against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
