Bottom-ranked TV Saarlouis Royals managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against tenth-ranked ChemCats Chemnitz 73-68. TV Saarlouis Royals had a 32-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Bronaza Fitzgerald (183-96, college: NC-Asheville) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. International center Nadjeschda Ilmberger (190-96) chipped in 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Fitzgerald is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Maya Hood (178-94, college: San Diego) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Jasmine Smith (183-94, college: San Jose St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TV Saarlouis Royals (4-12) moved-up to tenth place. ChemCats Chemnitz lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. TV Saarlouis Royals will meet higher ranked Goettingen (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ChemCats Chemnitz will play against Gruner Stern Keltern and hope to secure a win.
