We should mention about the upset which took place in Balikesir, where higher ranked Sigortam.net ITU (9-9) lost to fifteenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (5-13) in a road game 77-89. Bandirma Kir. outrebounded Sigortam.net ITU 40-26 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Atakan Erdek (192-1) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Bandirma Kir. players scored in double figures. Bandirma Kir.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points by American guard Chad Frazier (192-92, college: UAB) did not help to save the game for Sigortam.net ITU. Forward Mehmet Alemdaroglu (205-96) added 12 points. Bandirma Kir. moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Ankara DSI and Yalova Bld. Sigortam.net ITU at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Bandirma Kir.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked OGM Orman (#3) in Ankara and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
