Bottom-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive losses on Wednesday night. This time they edged seventh-ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg in Weissenfels 77-76. Mitteldeutscher BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Jovan Novak (188-94, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American guard Lee Moore (193-95, college: UTEP) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Mitteldeutscher BC and four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Mitteldeutscher BC (4-16) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Crailsheim. EnBW Ludwigsburg at the other side dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC will meet at home Crailsheim Merlins (#17) in the next round. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against BBC Bayreuth (#12) and hope to secure a win.
