Regular Season Round 24: Timberwolves - Oberwart 75-77

Eighth-ranked Timberwolves (9-15) gave a tough game to third ranked Gunners Oberwart (17-7) in Vienna on Saturday. The visitors from Oberwart managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected much easier game. Timberwolves were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 12-point lead after three quarters before a 28-14 charge of Gunners Oberwart, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of British center Chris Tawiah (207-93, college: Wiley) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Lithuanian swingman Andrius Mikutis (194-88, college: John Brown, agency: Players Group) who added 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American-Italian swingman Joe Scott (192-88, college: St.Thomas) scored 25 points. Gunners Oberwart moved-up to second place, which they share with Kapfenberg. Newly promoted Timberwolves keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. Gunners Oberwart is looking forward to face league's second-placed Kapfenberg Bulls at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Timberwolves will play against the league's leader Gmunden Swans (#1) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
