Regular Season Round 21: Kaiserslautern - Kronberg 95-63

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Kronberg (6-13) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked Kaiserslautern (8-11) 95-63 on Saturday. Kaiserslautern dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kronberg's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Waldemar Nap (202-93) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. American forward John Barber (200-85, college: Youngstown St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Barber is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Kaiserslautern players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Noah Litzbach (196-0) who recorded 28 points and 6 rebounds and Nicolas Lagerman (192-1) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Kronberg's coach Milo Crnjac gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kaiserslautern moved-up to eighth place in South-West, which they share with Stuttgart. Loser Kronberg keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Kaiserslautern will face league's second-placed Koblenz on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kronberg will play against Mainz (#14) and hope to win that game.
